Angels Baseball Inspired Nails

On Friday night while watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony I painted my nails with a design inspired by Anaheim's baseball team the Angels.  I had a ticket to Saturday's game so I thought I'd try to show my team spirit!

For this design I used polishes that matched the team's colors, Maybelline "Speedy Hot Tamale" and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "White On."  I actually picked up the white polish last week at Target.  It was on sale for $1.50!  I've used it twice already and really like it!

For three of my nails on each hand I used the white and then painted some designs on them.  I painted the "A" with the halo to represent the team and then I painted a red design on another nail to make it look like a baseball.

Like I mentioned before I was watching the Opening Ceremony while I did this.  I kept getting distracted especially when this scary Voldemort appeared on my TV!

creepy!

I felt better after Mary Poppins showed up to save the day!

All these distractions resulted in some extra messy nails!

I used a Q-Tip and nail polish remover to clean up the polish that got all over my hands.  Here is the result!

The nails matched my team jersey and Angels merchandise very well! The game was a lot of fun!

Weekend Update- More Yellow, Gold Polish, & other news!

So I've got two new manicures coming up this week!  One of which I'm really excited about sharing and is what I have on right now!  I'll be getting the first one up soon but until then I thought I'd post other pictures from this past weekend!

On Friday I wore yellow which matched perfectly with my yellow mani.  The yellow definitely brightened my mood that day (the fact that it was Friday helped too)!

On Saturday I stepped into a Sephora and noticed this polish by OPI.  It's real gold!  I sampled it on one of my nails and it was really pretty and just like pixie dust!

It was $30 for a bottle though which was too high for me but I did treat myself to a different polish which I'll share after I get to try it out!

In other news, I started a Facebook and Twitter page! If you'd like to check it out the link to the Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/pixiedustnailsblog and the link to Twitter is https://twitter.com/pixiedustnails.

I'll end this with a photo clue about what the manicure I'll be sharing next is!

Have a great week everyone!

Yellow Polish, plus Collage and Music Nails!

Today’s post features 3 manicures I did this week!
Some of my family was in town for a few days last weekend.  I felt sad after they headed home so I painted my nails in a cheerful color to try to brighten my mood. I picked the color yellow!  I used a NYC nail polish called “Taxi Yellow Creme".  It took a few coats but in the end my nails were a happy soft yellow.
I took out my new dotting tools for practice and used it to paint dots on my nails.  I used L.A. Colors “Sea Siren”.  It was a very simple mani that didn’t take too long to do.  I even threw in a hidden Mickey.

My family was only in town for a few days but I did manage to do quick manis on my sisters.  Although I started out with the new nail tools I had gotten I ended up going back to the tools I was used to for time reasons.  For one of my sisters I painted her nails with a collage of different designs because I couldn’t decide on one. I put Sanrio's Batz Maru on one nail, glitter on another, and what reminded us of her cat on her thumb.

For my other sister we did a music theme and I painted music notes on her nails along with some zig zag lines, stars, and microphones.

I wish we’d had more time but I'm so happy they were able to visit.  I really miss them all a lot and I have been a bit of an Eeyore since they’ve left.
On a happier note, I think I’ll be starting the 31 day manicure challenge in the next couple weeks. I hit a bit of a creative block in general so I think it will be a great way to push myself and maybe even learn some new nail tricks as I go.
