Blue and Orange Dotty Nails

Today is Day 11 of the 31 Day Challenge and the prompt is polka dots.  I love polka dots!  They are probably my favorite thing to do when it comes to nail art.  They're easy and you can do a lot of things with dots including Mickey ears!  Although I had a few options I decided to share this simple mani that I did to match a dress I wore during the Fall Dapper Day weekend at Disneyland last year.  I painted my nails a sparkly blue and orange and then added 3 dots to each nail.

Dark Green and Gold Matte Nails

Here is a manicure I did a few months ago!  I used a dark green polish by Essie called "Mind Your Mittens" and a gold polish by Burberry called Light Gold No. 107.  Once it was all dry I added some dots with the gold and finished it off with a matte top coat.  I used one that I received for Christmas called Ciate Mattnificent matte top coat.  I love the effect a matte coat has on nail polish!  It gives it a softer, less glossy look.  For some reason I didn't get more than one or two photos of this mani.  I still thought I should share it though because I like how it came out! 

Hidden Mickey and Dots Mani

I was looking through photos yesterday and stumbled across this mani that I did several months ago!  I didn't get the best photos which is why I never posted it but I figured I'd go ahead and share them anyway!

These were rather simple to do- just pick a color you like for the base and then two bright colors to do the dots at the tips of your nails.  You can use a dotting tool or a even a bobby pin to do the dots.   For the center dot on my ring fingernail and thumbnail, I added two more dots (ears) to make hidden Mickeys.

Mickey and Minnie Nails at Disney World!

I’m back from my vacation!  My husband and I had a nice time running around all the parks at Disney World!  I didn’t have a lot of time to do nail art before our trip but the night before we left I was feeling awake so I decided to paint my nails real quick before bed!  I had to rush on it more than I would like but the overall look seemed okay in the end despite a bit of the polishes running together when I used my top coat.
Because we were heading to Disney World on Valentine’s Day, I wanted to do nail art inspired by Minnie and Mickey Mouse.  With all the vacation fun I didn’t take a lot of photos of the result.  In fact the only pictures I got were from the trip itself!  So this will be more of a ‘Where in Disney World is Carmen Sandiego  Nerissa’s Manicure'  type of post.  ;-)
