Duffy the Disney Bear Nails for a Disney Cruise

Today I'm sharing one of my very favorite manicures I've done so far.  It's actually from a couple years ago but I never got around to posting it here.  I was going on a Disney Cruise for my birthday and wanted to paint something special on my nails for it.  Because Duffy the Disney Bear loves to travel and go sail around the world with Mickey, I thought he would be the perfect theme!

France Flag Nails

Today, July 14th, is Bastille Day, the French National Holiday.  My husband and I like to celebrate it at home with French food, drink, and movies!  This year I thought I'd make my nails match the celebration by using the French flag as inspiration!

For this manicure I used red, white, and blue polish and some scotch tape.  I cut
a square of the tape and used it to cover half my nail and painted the other half blue.  Once the blue dried, I put tape over it and then painted the other side red.  At the end I used my white polish (from a Kiss Nail Artist kit I got at Target) to paint a rectangle in the middle.

Our Duffy got dressed up for the occasion too!  Here he is in his France outfit.  We match!

Blue/Black Grid Nails

This next manicure was a quick one I did a few months ago.  I had painted my nails in a light blue that I really liked but felt it needed something else.  I grabbed my black polish that came with a thin brush and started drawing lines on my already blue nails.

They weren't the straightest lines but in the end I liked them!  It sort of reminded me of Tron and the Grid!  I sent a picture of them to my sister and she said they reminded her of Mystique from X-Men which made me like them even more!  I hope to try this again sometime with straighter lines!
